Since I'll be joining GM T's Blog Writing Contest. I think this is the best opportunity for the very last GM who has my and my clan's respect, to know why most of us loyal gamers burned out of the game we all loved and why still, a few stayed with high hopes and faith that someday, everything will go back to normal where we could live our lives in a place where we once called home, MIDGARD (Please click for full post, may contain things you don't want to read about, but it is my blog, I wrote it.. It is reality.. at least, for me..) For my credibility I'll leave it as it is.. I wont edit a single word since that day I wrote it.
Real world? Good thing we are Filipinos. If were not, then maybe we'd go insane with how should we define "REAL" from Real World ^^ I'd say this because, come'on take a look around!? Read the news papers? What's making the headlines? 15 of our soldiers being killed because of mindless assaults to those do-no-good rebels? Whose fault? Multi-Million worth, Luxury cars "that word again" mindlessly being crashed/thrashed to smitherins? The cost of a set of wheels from those babies would provide a good starting capital for maybe a small sari-sari store which would really be a great help for a poor filipino family, a really great help, kung inisip lang nila.
Two words would best describe my point of view with the Real World.. "Greed and Corruption"
Does it exist in MMORPGs? Mahirap na magsalita.. But I have faith in "them".. If I don't, I won't be playing Ragnarok, RF and Perfect World Online and a casual game from the other online games provider company anymore would'nt I? ^^ Lets leave that part to them.
It really would be hurting for GM T's side if we compare the real world with MMORPGs. Well, I'm not pertaining to LUG's Games here but the whole MMORPGs as well as those MMORPGs I have'nt played yet. Sa una lang masaya, Like the real world. When you were born and started learning things, 3-5 years old maybe. All you care about is playing, eating and sleeping. Until you get older, things go from bad to worse. Things become complicated, life isn't fun anymore. There maybe times when you wish you could go back being a child again. Where everything is simple.
MMORPG; I was an open beta player for Ragnarok Online Philippines, the first ever MMORPG to ever hit the Philippines. I remember cutting classes (Don't follow my lead >.<) just to play the game from a local internet cafe. I remember skipping meals just to save my baon so i could purchase game cards to continue playing the game. It was fun, It really was.. I get to meet new friends everyday. We'd sit somewhere and call it our tambayan and take screenshots "picture picture muna" for keepsakes. It was fun.. I miss those days.. Those days when we would sit somewhere for hours and make fun of anything that pops up. Yun ang buhay Ragnarok dati.. Kahit level down dahil sa trippings, ok lang.. ang importante masaya.
What happened to those days? Its all gone.. It was fun while it lasted.. Maybe that is the mirror of life. As we grow older things become much more complicated. I remember my Lolo's words, "Noon, halos lahat ng mga tao magkakakilala, magkakaibigan" now "Its mind your own business" and "Make friends with the strongest, most powerful and influential people" I can clearly see now what my Lolo felt while saying those words. And it really makes me sad..
